This morning I woke up well and early on the site of my store. It was a morning of fog, fresh and dark. But I want to enter the city as soon as possible. So I packed and began to walk in the dark. It was a great beginning for the day and enjoyed the cooler climate. The path was green and covered with fog.
As the morning progressed, I walked through the pine forests aligned with bright mosses. Then a couple of small waterfalls passed. I vividly remembered that previously stopped in one of them to fill the water in 2022. It is crazy how you can remember exactly where you were and who you were with, even looking at something that, in theory, you see all the time. The path passes all kinds of waterfalls, waterfalls, streams and streams. However, I can somehow remember which one I sat on and who I was with.
It was a great beginning of the day and the path did not have much uphill. Finally, as the morning progressed, I ended up dating a great beautiful lake. It was so brilliant and crystalline. The surrounding area had tons of beautiful tents. But that would have been an absolutely massive day for me yesterday.
Put in the fog forest this morning.
Throughout the morning, the path was for many blueberries and blueberries. Both sides of the path were bordered almost constantly. It was quite distracting and definitely stole time. But blueberries were so fresh and delicious. You cannot overcome the taste of a blueberry that really chooses a bush. That slowed me a little, but I was absolutely flying, destined for the city.
At some point I ended up spending a day hiker that was in the opposite direction. She told me that there was someone on the road by magic of trails. I think that at that time I was still 6 or 7 miles from the beginning of the path in Snoqualmie. I thought they were installed there, right on the edge of the city. But then he ended up receiving a total surprise when I went on a dirt road only a couple of miles later. And in reality there was someone installed on the previous land road!

In fact, I am. A thirst only of soda can turn off.
His name was cleaning because he always goes to the road and «clean» mile sections to fill the blank spaces of his PCT walk. He was a super nice guy and offered me a cold drink. Then he cooked two sausages on his plate. It was very nice to sit for the first time all day. And I would probably have kept my head down and ran all the way to the city, just eating or drinking anything. I still had two hours to go most likely. So it was really nice to stop for a break and really eat something.

The path passed this bright shiny blue lake.
We spent a while chatting on the path. I knew there were at least two guys behind me, so at least I could do a little more trail magic today. However, he had mentioned that the path has been very calm lately. At least the last days. After probably sitting for more than half an hour, I decided to continue. I was very excited to get to the city and settled.
At some point I had received service at this time. And he ended up having service throughout the rest of the day. So I did some work while walking. I also received a message from another hiker that is doing the triple crown of the calendar year. This year there are two types that make the triple crown of the calendar year from the border to the border like me. And a guy who goes for an FKT in the calendar your triple crown, as well as a remaining guy who is doing the triple crown of the regular calendar year. This other hiker named Slide began just when we did. But it has made some different sections of the path and leaves Florida for the end. Which is really intelligent.

Almost for Snoqualmie Pass.
I do not remember when he approached for the first time, but we have been communicating a little on Instagram during the year. And it turns out that he got into Snoqualmie this morning going south on the PCT. I hoped we were and maybe we could hang out in the city. But I thought it is very likely that we would probably pass quickly on the real path. It seems that every time I meet a friend along the way, he cannot be in the city. It is usually in a crazy climb or during a horrible climate. But this worked quite well.
After being fed by Trail Magic, I flew the rest of the road to the city. And he ended up talking to my dad on the phone for a while to spend time. It was just around 1:45 pm when I finally arrived at Snoqualmie and went to the summit inn. And my moment was also quite good because the check-in was at 2 pm. I sat there and waited for 15 minutes and ended up with my dad.
Just when they recorded me, I saw entering the slide. He was trying to wash his clothes at the hotel, but once people realized that they didn’t stay there, they told him that he couldn’t wash his clothes there. I finished eating, I recorded and grabbed my boxes and then left everything in the room. Then, slide and ended up simply by dividing the room to be able to wash the clothes and we could hang out and talk about the calendar year. It is quite crazy to make a walk this year that some people have tried or done. And it’s even crazier to meet another person who is doing exactly the same. I thought it would be good to share unique stories and experiences about this strange year.
Once I was in the room, I settled and went through the resupply boxes. I sent myself a box of merchant Joe, which was exciting. And Trail Angel called Randy left a box with dinners and all kinds of snacks and sweets. It is local in the area and actually drove a few days ago and left it here. I am so excited about the next section and all the incredible food I can eat! Randy is also the same person who plans to pick me up in Mazama and take me to Glacier National Park.

An incredible refueling thanks to Randy!
It took me time to spend all the food because I had too much and did not want to separate anything. Fortunately, there are tons of hikers who stay here and there was a large hiker box in the lobby. So it is not like anything that does not eat will be wasted. During this time I showered and got things together to wash clothes. Then I put my electronics to load. Then I slipped and ended up simply hanging out and talking about the path. The great thing is that there are many ways to achieve this. I feel that the slide and I have made very different walks this year. When it comes to which path sections we have already completed, what direction and even what types of weather we experience. There is definitely a certain overlap, but also tons of differences.
As usual, The day ended up sliding quite fast. We ended up preparing a great dinner pizza and went out for a while in the room watching movies.
Early in the day he had been in contact with a woman named Tammy. He approached a couple of weeks ago and is local in the area. She wanted to come to bring some path of paths at some point and had given her a difficult UTA so she would be arriving at Snoqualmie. And he ended up deciding here today after work so that we could meet.

It was a pleasure to meet Tammy, her husband, her son and her adorable puppy!
That was really exciting and knew it was going to be great to meet her and her family. She came with her husband, her little son, and her new dog puppy and little dog from Wiener. She said she brought the puppy with her because she knew she probably needed some animal love. That was completely true. I went out and met her and her family and we spent the time and talked for a while. It is always incredible to meet people who have inspired this trip. Sometimes I am surprised to listen to people to talk about the way they have impacted them. That was a really incredible experience and I am very happy that she has come out and we could meet.

Tammy, myself and his adorable puppy.
Later at night before he arrived too late, Slide and I decided to go to the hotel’s hydromassage bathtub. That is another reason why I wanted to stay in the summit inn in Snoqualmie. I knew they had an interior hydromassage bathtub and a sauna, and it is not much better than that. It was at some point around 9 pm when we had it there. And we couldn’t because of us discover where the light switch was in the small room. Fortunately, there was a bath outside the room where the hydromassage bathtub was, so you could at least put that light. But it was basically a slow black there.
Two other hikers ended up entering and one of them was Fire Master. Who I met on the path of the Apalaches in 2023 and then ran to the other morning leaving White Pass. I had seen it in the lobby today when it arrived in the city. The four, we all go out in the hydromassage bathtub for a while and talk about trail and things like that. All today have also been talking about incoming climate. Apparently it looks terrible tomorrow.
But, of course, I really can’t afford to take days off, even for bad weather. So the plan is definitely walking tomorrow morning, even though it looks terrible. I have everything aligned to finish the PCT and I prefer not to try to move things. But I have probably had five or six different people today who ask me if I am zero tomorrow because of how bad the weather looks. It’s nothing too crazy, but we’re talking about cold rain all day. From the morning until the next night. Then, on Saturday, the next day, it seems quite decent.
As always, I stayed in the jacuzzi until I felt incredibly uncomfortable. Then we slipped and went back to the room to hang out for the rest of the night. Today it was very nice to talk about such strange niche issues in terms of this walk. There are certain things that other people would never imagine. It is one thing to make a traditional walk. Another thing is having walked around 5600 miles this year. There were certain things that he mentioned that they were so specific and I was very related. It is always good to know that you are not crazy and that certain thoughts and feelings are really super normal, when you are walking more than 8500 miles a year.
It ended up being a great day and a great night. But, of course, I didn’t do much work. However, it is fine because this looks like the type of day that you cannot have very often. We end up being up to date watching movies for a while and finally we call it one night.
