PCT 2025 - Day 5

I ended up camping about 4 miles from Math Pass last night. He had a beautiful place near the river about 50 yards outside the path. I ate a lot of food and slept well. My internal alarm clock woke me a little later than I wanted at 5:30 am, but it worked on the path, and the firm snow made the difference in the world, and EV there the path several times, it was up and another at 9 am certainly not quickly, but quick enough for me.

I feel that every pass from the mountains presents a new chapter. Of course, everything is lakes, rocks and waterfalls, but it is different. I think the worst of walking on soft snow is not post -Holgada, it is the fact that you have such a small chance to look up and see what it was out. These mountains are incredible, the enchantments remind me a bit, but the times 100. I came across more than once just looking at him and how beautiful it is everything here.

Most of the snow seems to have passed along the way, at least until tomorrow. The path is dry, but sometimes it is a bit difficult to navigate between the rocks, so I am not going to make a rhythm of the desert today, although I hope it is another 15 or 16 miles. A long time, we’ll see what happens

Finally, the path matched and put myself up to date in some miles. It is 5 in the afternoon and I have just over 5 miles to the camp I aim at. Which is just 2 miles from Muir Pass. I will try to get up early and return to dry land. It is very difficult to make desert miles in the mountains, but if I’m going to prepare to get up and spend the day after tomorrow, I think I need to do about 25 tomorrow. If the path is soft, and if I can overcome the snow while it is still firm, it should be easy, even with broad breaks.

There are four hikers ahead of me that I know. Apart from what I know, I don’t think anyone has come before me this morning, but it could certainly be wrong. It is only important in the estimation of how many tents will converge in a place near another pass. It gives me something to think about, at least, while I go up, go up and go up a little more late in the afternoon.
