PCT Days and … Washington!

Greetings Washington!

My last days in Oregon or some of the most beautiful. After leaving Timberline Lodge, the PCT followed the Timberline path and went west of Mount Hood, showing some beautiful views along the way.

During the following days, all that everyone could speak were PCT days. This is the annual meeting/exhibition of equipment and good food and fun. The number of people along the way increased as hikers timed their walks to enter the city of Cascade Locks during the PCT days. I was really excited that without intention to do it, I was entering the city in time.

I took an alternative route during the last 10 miles in the Cascade locks along the Eagle Creek path. I have to say that this is one of the most beautiful paths I have been in a long time. Eagle Creek is absolutely beautiful with numerous waterfalls and deep acute holes.

It also includes the famous tunnel cataracts. There is a tunnel in the rock that goes behind the fall. The entrance to the tunnel is bordered by beautiful green ferns. It was very fun to pass and, although it was alone (therefore, limiting the images with people), it also facilitated the passage from one side to another several times.

One of the many waterfalls along Eagle Creek
Falls tunnel. It is difficult to capture the path that enters the cataracts, the tunnel and the falls at the same time.

PCT Days!

Then on PCT Days! This is the annual festival where sellers come to sell their products related to the backpacker such as clothing, tents and shoes.

I had fun, but I was a bit disappointed that there were not as many vendors as I thought there would be. The great news is that I could repair some pieces of team. I could cover the entire exhibition in a couple of hours and then I arrived at the post office for my refueling, put on a new pair of shoes and cross the bridge of the gods towards Washington.

Can you believe there was a bagpipe on the bridge? He was also quite good!
