PCT SOBO DAY 102 – No payment

Day 102

Day Zero

I woke up with full intentions of getting back on the trail today, but life had other plans. As usual, my goal was to leave my room by 11am, the typical check-out time, so I headed across the street to have an early (for me) breakfast before heading back to pack up and leave.

However, when I returned to my room around 9:30, I heard a knock on my door. Departure was at 10 am! I was not at all prepared or mentally prepared to leave, so I decided to take my day zero early. I really needed it though. The last 6 days were hard.

What zero days are about 🤤

Now that I had the rest of the day to relax, I took my clothes across the street, did the laundry, bought a few things to resupply, and visited the equipment store. Everything I needed was within a two block radius which made my day in the city very easy.

I had a delicious dinner at the Mt. Whitney Restaurant and returned to my room, full of food and ready to relax.

And that’s a day in the life of a PCT SOBO hiker!
