PCT SOBO DAY 110 – Rest!

Day 110

Tehachapi, mile 2089.3

day zero

Miles traveled: 0

Day zero! Before yesterday, I hadn’t planned on taking another zero day so soon, but back-to-back days of 30 miles and snow hikes really got on my nerves. Today was a day to relax and do (almost) nothing.

I did my chores (laundry, resupply, etc.) early, and on the way back from Walmart, I ran into the other hikers. They planned to get back on the road today, but now they didn’t seem so sure. I think they needed a day in the city, the way I liked it.

PCT SOBO DAY 110 – Rest!

I spent the rest of the day lazing around until Sun came into town. We had dinner and he told me about his adventure. Later we met up with the rest of the team to say hello. After all, they had decided to take a zero day. Sun and I hung out and chatted for a while about the end of the trail before we both went to bed early. It was a bittersweet moment as we were all ready to finish the trail, but that meant saying goodbye to trail friends. The only thing we could do was enjoy the time we had left and make the most of it.

And that’s a day in the life of a PCT SOBO hiker!
