Day 12
Home: Lake Sally Ann, Mile 159.2
END: Smith Brook Trail Junction, Mile 181.0
Walked miles: 21.8 miles
The sun went out to my store around 5:30 am, but when I was ready to get up, its rays had apparently disappeared. Curious, I looked out of my store and then I saw them: clouds. Low, thick, foggy and sinister, extend throughout the sky in all directions. This did not look good.
When I finished packing my things to start with the possible rain, a relative called.
«Princess? Are you?»
It was Cheetah’s pants, a hiker with whom he had lunch in Stehekin and with whom I camped a couple of nights. It turns out that he had been scared for something in his camp last night, packed around 2 in the morning and walked here just a couple of hours before. I needed a great need for a phone position, so I planned to walk the 29 miles to the city all today. That didn’t seem like a great idea, so I offered my energy bank, the one I had given me when someone had stolen mine.
«Load your phone and meet in 22 miles. I’m planning camping there, so I can return when it’s over!»
«Deal!» Said.
With that, I left him to finish gathering his things while I got to the road. Walking with the clouds was quite pleasant during the first miles. The fresh breeze kept my energy and did not overheat me with the sun hitting on me. Soon, however, things took a turn.

A wonderful view!
Around the upper part of my first of 3 main climbs for the day, it began to fed. Then, there was a lot of wet weed that soaked my skirt, legs, shoes and socks every time I brushed them. I had to get my umbrella, which only served to keep my upper half dry, not the lower half. Fortunately, the climbing kept me hot, so it was not too miserable. That is, until I had to descend.
Oooh, it was cold! In !! My hands were already pruned and difficult to maneuver. I put on my rain jacket at the top of the second climb, but did not help much. As I descended, my body produced less heat, so I concentrated on moving, moving, moving. But then the farms came!
These were some of the worst magazines I had seen! In general, I can say how most people have turned around and take that easy route, but not this time! Two huge trees fell together so that I couldn’t even know where the path was until I climbed on them. I will not lie, that was quite fun, even in the rain. I walked through the mass trunk until I could find a drop that would allow me to slide the tree to the ground with the least amount of damage. And I did it! Then, immediately after that, there was another mass exploration that required acrobatic skills. Would this be the last?

Sitting on one of the farms
It turns out that it was. Below I went, getting colder and more hungry. I tried to convince myself that the sky was becoming lighter and that there was a possibility that things were heated, but I was thinking. I took a short break under a set of trees to eat the sad lunch that went, then I continued, without wanting to be too cold.
Above and I went. The climb warmed me and kept me in progress while the rain showed no signs of deceleration. At the top of the Grizzly peak, I breathed a sigh of relief. It was much closer to the camp. The rest of the day was blurred. I kept raining, so all I could do was lower my head and walk.
Finally I arrived at my planned camp around 6 and immediately put my store to escape the rain. Just an hour later, I heard a familiar voice.
«Princess!»
Guepardo pants had succeeded! It turns out that he had not used his phone a lot today with the rain and everything, but he could still load him to meet his needs. It was like «The PowerBank Travel Excursionism» (if you get the reference). Anyway, Cheetah’s pants prepared their canvas, they no longer need to run to the city.
The wind continued howling through the trees while trying to warm up in my store. With luck, the weather will be better tomorrow.
And that is a day in the life of a PCT Sobo hiker!
