Day 44
Home: Highway 58/WILLAMETTE PASS, Mile 746.4
END: TENTSITE, MILLA 758.1
Walked miles: 11.7 miles
After a little last minute struggle, the janitor and I left Airbnb and we went to Brunch before making the trip back to Willamette Pass. The trip was a bit long, but we finally returned to where he had left.
The janitor walked with me during the first mile before we had to say goodbye forever. I was a little sad since I would probably not see it to the desert, but I was also happy to continue along the way. Now that I did not feel the hurry to meet with janitor in the city, I decided to take it a bit easy and walk 25 miles. Today I didn’t have a target target, so I took my time.
When I went up to the Diamond Peak area, I barely noticed the inclination. It was hotter today than I had been in a long time, but the trees shaded me from the worst of the sun. Soon, I arrived at Hidden Lake and, of course, I had to take advantage of dip’s opportunity. The lake was absolutely perfect. There were almost no mosquitoes and the water was not cold. I soaked in the lake for a while and enjoyed the sun. When I left, I could sit and dry without fighting insects. What a luxury!
After 45 minutes on the lake, I decided that it was finally time to keep moving. The climb was still relatively easy, and soon I could see the diamond peak in the distance. The mountain seemed to shine in the sun.
Soon, I got to a perfect place for camping. They were only around 6 pm, but I had made enough miles in my mind. He had a perfect view of the surrounding mountains and there were very few mosquitoes. It was exactly what I wanted!
I had dinner and then I saw the sunset from my store. When the sky darkened, a drop of orange caught my attention. When I put my glasses again, I gasped. The moon was increasing and absolutely Ginomesa! I had never seen such a deeply colored and magnificent moon. It was even better than the Moon’s Rise a couple of days before.
Once again, the sky illuminated with the brightness of the moon, which makes it difficult to sleep. But finally I stayed with sleep lands.
And that is a day in the life of a PCT Sobo hiker!
