Day 52
Home: Ashland, out of mile 935.6
END: Ashland Mountain Campground, Mile 944.3
Walked miles: 9.3 miles
I had a lot on my agenda to achieve today. But, the first business request was breakfast! My hotel took a continental breakfast, so I woke up early to eat cereals and a bagel (with coffee, of course) and then returned to my room. Safeway was on the other side of the street, so with the refueling plan in my hand, I went to buy some food.
My plan was to buy food for mail drops in Nortal, so I had a lot on my list. It was a bit overwhelming to discover what I needed and what I could be losing, but I think I did a solid job. When I returned to my room, I unpacked and ordered everything, making sure to know which food I belonged to which box to send.
After ordering everything, I checked and went to my next stop: the post office. There were not too many people there, so I packed and headed to my packages in silence, I sent them by mail and headed to my mission: lunch. I had heard of an Indian lunch buffet and, as an Indian, like my favorite kitchen, I had to try it.
Baked products in the cafeteria
Upon entering the restaurant, he had a little sleep and calm. A couple of tables were busy, so I quickly sat down and headed for food. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. The food selection was not as big as other places, the Curry knew a little watered and the Naan was a bit rancid. Even so, I ate my filling to make the most of the buffet.
The last mission before putting on the way was to publish some blog posts. I went to a cafeteria and settled outside, but that was a mistake. So many hikers passed that I spent most of the time speaking instead of writing. I met some nobles and talked with them about their walk so far. Although they were behind the bubble, they still had a plan to finish before October 1. I also talked with some sobs that I had seen on the way from time to time.
Before realizing, the afternoon was not so early. I needed to return to the way. I made some calculations on my mileage and realized that I would arrive in Etna, either on Friday or early Saturday. I sent a refueling package there, but the post office did not open on Saturday. However, if I was fast enough, I could get there on time on Friday. It would mean pushing a lot, but it was possible.
With that in mind, I left a little out of the city center and took off my thumb. My first hitch took me to the outskirts of the city, closer to the road, while my second engastado took me to the beginning of the path. Back on the way!
Up and above I had to climb, heading towards Mount Ashland. I did not feel the best header; I think I had too much caffeine. Instead of accelerating, my caffeine levels slowed down. I had wanted to do between 12 and 15 miles today to make the ETNA mission possible, but I could only reach the Mount Ashland camp before feeling exhausted.
When establishing my store, I was a little sad for not having come as far as I wanted, but I had a magnificent view of the mountains during the sunset. When the sky darkened, the air cooled. I curled up in my store, wrapped in my comforter as I fell into a very necessary dream.

Mt. Shasta in the distance
And that is a day in the life of a PCT Sobo hiker!
