METROIke Posner, the pop star known for successes as «Cooler Than Me» and «Take a pill in Ibiza», has announced plans to overcome the continental path divides this summer. Directing south from the Canadian border, the artist hopes to average the days of 30 miles during the path of approximately 3,100 miles.
Posner is no stranger to outdoor adventure. In 2019, he walked almost 3,000 miles through America from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. In 2021, he complied with Mount Everest, raising more than $ 250,000 for the Detroit Justice Center. The CDT, however, will be the artist’s first attempt on a walk through one of the national scenic paths of the United States.

The path of the continental division
The divide continental path, which extends from Mexico to Canada to five Western states, is widely considered one of the most challenging long distance paths in the United States. It is known for its remote desert, great altitudes, unpredictable climate, a strong logistics of replenishment and lack of infrastructure established for hikers.
The CDT is often described as 3,100 miles long, but its exact length is difficult to specify due to its variable nature. Unlike other long paths, it is perfectly acceptable to take numerous alternates that deviate from the «official» route of the path. Trek Owen Eigenbrot writer estimates that functionally, most children are probably closer to 2,700 miles in length instead of 3,000, and some CDT itineraries can be as short as 2,400 miles.
Posner plans to start the way this week, placing it far behind the typical bubble of the hikers of Sobo.
He will have a small crew with him, completely composed of friends and family, including his parents and his fiancee. Reflecting on their past adventures, he says: «Mainly what I have seen is an unimaginable kindness … what you find is that people stop all day trying to help you … They are all so friendly.»
With the late beginning of Posner in mind, and a widely accepted deadline of the last week of September to overcome the mountains of San Juan de Colorado, you must maintain an ambitious average of 30 miles per day to complete the path before winter conditions make the step impossible.
