Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has praised the impact Michael Carrick has made in transforming the atmosphere around Old Trafford with four consecutive wins since taking charge.
Fernandes scored as the Red Devils defeated 10-man Tottenham 2-0 on Saturday to consolidate their place in the Premier League’s top four.
Carrick has lost less than seven games during two spells as United’s interim boss.

The former midfielder insisted earlier this weekend that the United hierarchy cannot rush to a decision on who will be the club’s next permanent manager.
However, the results and performances since Ruben Amorim’s departure last month make a strong case for the former Middlesbrough boss to be signed after the end of this season.
“Carrick came up with the right ideas, giving the players responsibility and freedom on the field,” Fernandes told TNT Sports.
«I was sure he would be a great manager and he is showing that. We hope we can help him even more.»
«Everyone understands the pressure of playing for this club; everyone knows the expectations surrounding it. He knows what it means for this club to win. It adds something special to the team.»
The victory moves United to within two points of third-place Aston Villa and opens up a lead over their chasers for a place in next season’s Champions League.
A top-five finish is likely to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League, due to the strong performances of English sides in European competition this season.
United are five points ahead of sixth-placed Liverpool, who host title-chasing Manchester City on Sunday.
