Premier League 2025-26: Carvalho scores Laten as Brentford Chelsea keeps a draw

Fabio Carvalho from Brentford struck an injury time on Saturday to save a 2-2 Premier League-equal game with Chelsea in the West-London Derby on Saturday and for the time being Chelsea put to the top position in the table.

Chelsea seemed ready for the victory after Cole Palmer, returned from a groin injury, scored an equalizer in the 61st minute and then hit Moises Caicedo in the 85th.

But Carvalho stabbed the equalizer in the 93rd minute to the joy of the crowd at Gtech Stadium, scored damage from six meters after the long throw-in from Kevin.

«It was clearly not a win, but it felt like a victory,» Carvalho said Sky Sports.

Damage had broken the impasse with the first goal of the game in the 35th minute when Jordan Henderson launched a stunning 40-meter LOB just before a sprinting damage. The German cut in Tosin Adarabioyo before he shoots, bending the ball from the inside of the Adarabioyo leg and in the far corner.

Palmer had been doubtful for the Enzo Maresca team after missing two league games and the world cup qualifications of England with a groin injury, but he scored less than five minutes after coming when Joao Pedro led the cross of Enzo Fernandez in his path, and the 23-year-old sweeping at home with a half-volley.

Palmer still had a brilliant chance when he hit the cross of Pedro Neto from 12 meters, but he was refused by goalkeeper Cooimhin Kelleher.

Caicedo celebrated what he thought was the winner when he unleashed a rocket in the upper corner of an Alejandro Garnaacho Cross, in Garnacho’s first game since Chelsea signed him from Manchester United.

Chelsea had six shots on goal – five of them in the second half – to Brentford’s four
