Premier League 2025-26: Final frustrated by bot Liverpool in deadlock at Leeds

Liverpool manager Arne Slot said his side’s dominance of the ball counts for little without ‘special moments’ of individual brilliance after a toothless display in the 0-0 home draw with Leeds.

The Premier League champions are now nine games unbeaten after a run of nine defeats in twelve games.

But Liverpool’s performances have often not matched the results of that revival.

Slot’s team had almost 70 percent possession of the ball at Anfield, but missed the presence of the absent Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak.

“I think we are the team with the most ball possession in the competition this year, but possession of the ball doesn’t mean much if you can’t create enough chances,” said Slot.

“To create chances against the low block, you need pace and individual special moments to create overload.

“Not for the first time this season we saw a team that wanted it, tried (hard), but it was difficult for us to find the opening.”

One point ahead of fourth-placed Liverpool, three points ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United in the battle for a place in next season’s Champions League.

Leeds extended their unbeaten run to six games and moved seven points clear of the relegation zone.
