BUR vs. ARS – AS IT HAPPENED
Burnley failed to attempt a goal in the first half, and although they offered more threat after the break, Arsenal eased to a seventh consecutive clean sheet in all competitions.
“The first half was exceptional: we scored two goals and gave nothing away,” manager Mikel Arteta said BBC.
«That was the platform. We had to make a few changes and didn’t have much control in the second half. Defending was exceptional again, we didn’t give anything.»
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace swept aside London rivals Brentford in a comfortable 2-0 home win in the Premier League on Saturday, thanks to Jean-Philippe Mateta’s header and a Nathan Collins own goal.
Arsenal have 25 points from 10 games with Bournemouth, which is second on 18 on Sunday. Burnley is 17th with 10 points.
