Premier League 2025-26: Reed’s late screamer earns Fulham point in frantic 2-2 draw against Liverpool

Harrison Reed’s 97th-minute screamer earned Fulham a dramatic 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday after Cody Gakpo thought he had won it for the visitor in extra time.

Liverpool academy graduate Harry Wilson gave Fulham the lead in the 17th minute with a fine shot into the bottom corner after being played in by Raul Jimenez, with the goal initially ruled out for offside before VAR intervened.

Florian ‌Wirtz deservedly put Liverpool level with a ‍clinical finish in the 57th minute and Gakpo ‍seemingly snatched victory in the 94th, before Reed earned a share of the spoils at the death with a long-range strike.

Liverpool – now unbeaten in eight league games and nine in all competitions – remain fourth with 34 points from 20 games, 14 points behind leaders Arsenal. Fulham are eleventh with 28 points.

Thiago scores a hat-trick as Brentford beat Everton 4-2

Brentford striker Igor Thiago scored a superb hat-trick as his side stormed to a 4-2 win at Everton on Sunday to move them up to seventh in the Premier League and boost the challenge of qualifying for Europe for the first time.

The visitor broke through early, winning the ball high up the pitch for Vitaly Janelt to pick out Brazilian Thiago in the middle, and he sent a low volley past Jordan Pickford and into the bottom corner in the eleventh minute.

Everton started the second half strongly but were quickly derailed by Nathan Collins’ goal from a corner in the 50th minute and Thiago’s second just over a minute and a half later, but a goal from substitute Beto made it 3–1 and set up a grandstand finish.

As Everton stormed forward, Thiago completed his hat-trick in the 88th minute and a late goal from Thierno Barry could not prevent Brentford taking all three points.
