Premier League 2025-26: Salah scores the last fine while Liverpool stays perfect

Mohamed Salah scored a final fine against Burnley on Sunday when Liverpool kept his perfect record to climb back to the top of the Premier League.

Newly promoted Burnley had kept the champion at a distance, but a handball from Hannibal Mjbri deep in the stop time gave Salah a chance to win the game and he made no mistake.

Liverpool has now won all four of his Premier League matches this season after the 80th minute.

It is three points free from Arsenal, who was the top of the Premier League on Saturday with a 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest.

The visitor dominated the possession against the men of Scott Parker, but failed to break the impasse.

Slot left Alexander Isak’s new signing from his team completely out of his team after warning that he would gradually alleviate the progress in action.

But he could still contain an impressive attacking line-up, including Salah, Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.

Liverpool dominated from the beginning, where Gakpo had the goal of the early sight.

Burnley tried to break quickly when the possession won and Jaidon Anthony shot in the seventh minute.

Ibrahima Konate had the chance to lead Liverpool, but led Gakpo’s corner over the bar up close.

Milos Kerkez was booked for diving halfway through the first half and Slot withdrew him for Andy Robertson shortly before the break.

Ryan Gravenberch flashed a volley wide early in the second half when Burnley was unable to erase a corner and Martin Dubravka a long -distance effort outside of Dominik Szoboszlai outside.

Slot made his first attacking change in the 72nd minute, making Federico Chiesa for Ekitike.

The move paid dividends almost immediately, but the Italian international did not succeed in leading Robertson’s Cross on goal.

Burnley was reduced to ten men when Lesley Ugochukwu received a second yellow card for downing Wirtz on the edge of the box in the 84th.

Slot threw Jeremie Frimpong and Rio Ngumoha for Wirtz and Konate in a final handlebod for all three points.

The pressure of Liverpool finally paid off when Mejbri put his arm out and referee Michael Oliver pointed to the place.

Salah stepped up and shot the ball into the net and provided a fourth victory of four games.
