Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes suffered an injury during Sunday’s Premier League match against Aston Villa.
Fernandes was tackled from behind by Amadou Onana late in the first half before holding his right hamstring.
The Portuguese midfielder was replaced by Lisandro Martinez at the start of the second half.
United head coach Ruben Amorim hopes Fernandes makes a quick recovery because of his importance to his team. Fernandes has scored five goals and provided six assists in seventeen Premier League matches.
Fernandes’ injury adds to Amorim’s concerns in midfield after Kobbi Mainoo suffered a blow during Saturday’s training.
United are also without Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui, who are all on AFCON duty with their respective countries.
