Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou leaves the club on Saturday after a 0-3 defeat to Chelsea in the 2025-26 Premier League, leaving him without a win in eight games since taking charge last month.
Goals early in the second half from Josh Acheampong and Pedro Neto, and another from Reece James in the 84th minute, gave Chelsea a victory that drew loud cheers at full-time at the City Ground.
Postecoglou has been in a defiant mood in recent weeks and even delivered a five-minute monologue on Friday in which he rejected claims he was a ‘failed manager’ and vowed to win a trophy at Forest – just as he did at Tottenham Hotspur last season before being sacked.

However, Forest have now lost six and drawn the remaining two of their eight games under Postecoglou since the Australian replaced Nuno Espirito Santo as manager on September 9. That includes four defeats from five in the league, scoring just one goal, leaving Forest hanging just above the bottom three.
After the match, the Greek manager was fired by Forest.
Minutes after the break, Forest cost dearly, with 19-year-old defender Acheampong heading in a cross on Neto’s left flank in the 49th, before Neto whipped home a shot from an indirect free-kick in the 52nd.
James fired home a third after Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels fluttered at a corner, prompting hordes of home fans to leave the stadium and Chelsea’s away fans to chant ‘You’ll be sacked tomorrow morning’ towards Postecoglou.
Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto was sent off in the 87th for picking up a second yellow card.
Six more matches will follow later Saturday, including leaders Arsenal at Fulham in a London derby and Manchester City hosting Everton.
