Two of Diogo Jota’s children were mascots at Anfield on Saturday as Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers paid tribute to their former striker.
Jota, who died in a car crash in July, joined Liverpool from Wolves in 2020.
In the first meeting between the sides since his death, both groups of fans paid their respects, including a chant in Jota’s name in the 20th minute.
Two of his three children, Dinis and Duarte, and family members played the role as mascots, while his wife Rute Cardoso was also present.
Liverpool have retired the number 20 shirt worn by Jota and plans are underway for a permanent memorial to the Portugal international and his brother Andre Silva, who also died in the accident, at Anfield.
