Aston Villa announced on Monday the signing of former Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof in a transfer of Deadline Day.
Although Villa did not announce the length of his contract, the media reports suggested that Lindelof would move to Villa Park for two years with an option to expand a third.
Lindelof had packed his wares for United for eight seasons and left after the 2024-25 season when his contract went. The Sweden International has 194 Estate in the Premier League.
The free transfer is an attempt to stimulate the team strength, because the Unai Emery team is ahead of a debilitating season where it will also be in the UEFA Europa League.
Villa is currently in 19th place in the Premier League point table with only one point of the three games. It has been drawn with Newcastle United and has so far lost to Crystal Palace and Brentford.
