Tottenham drew Dutch attacking midfielder Xavi Simons from Leipzig on Friday, an arrival that the club does not make good at bringing Ebereechi Eze last week.
According to the European championship, the reimbursement for the 22-year-old Simons, who was a breakout star last year, was € 60 million ($ 70 million), according to the British media.
«I will bring Flair to the team, but also hard work and discipline,» Simons said in a statement from Spurs.
Simons only joined Leipzig in January, after an earlier loan in the German club from Paris Saint-Germain.
Tottenham was in conversation with Eze before the International in England chose to become a member of Fierce Noord -London Rival Arsenal in a late indictment for heart.
Tottenham has been in a market for an attacking midfielder for the entire summer window, with James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski with long -term injuries. Simons’ contract was the long term, said all Spurs.
Simons had 10 goals and seven assists in 25 Bundesliga matches last season, despite missing about two months with injury. He had little impact in a miserable Champions League campaign in which Leipzig lost seven of the eight games.
It is again a big name departure in this window for Leipzig, which sold Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United.
