Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 match against Nantes next month has been postponed to give the Champions League holders more rest between the two games of their last-16 tie with Chelsea.
PSG are due to face struggling Nantes on the weekend of March 13 and 15, between the first leg against Chelsea on March 11 and the second leg at Stamford Bridge on March 17.
Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea will face a difficult Premier League match against Newcastle United three days before the second leg.
“At the request of Paris Saint-Germain, the LFP board of directors, in consultation with Nantes, has decided to play the Paris Saint-Germain-Nantes match in the week of April 20, in order to best prepare for their two-legged tie against Chelsea,” the French league said in a statement on Saturday.
