Pull the sheets on my head

The liter in a kind of outdoor was gloriously dark. There are no windows, so apart from the people who enter and leave, nothing bothered me. Great, right?

Until it was 8:30, and I had slept through my alarm. While I lie there, I just didn’t want to get up. The idea of hiking filled me with fear, even with the promise of reaching Vegemite along the way. So … I decided then that it was zero time. When the store outfitter opened, I confirmed my zero meekly, and then I followed the Goodies restaurant with Cosmo and Tall Boy for breakfast.

At first, I felt some guilt for zero. I didn’t feel that «one» deserved «… but then I remembered how many miles he had walked this week. And although my weight has dropped, for some reason things have not felt well while walking. Heat and insects certainly do not help. And whatever happens, it would be walking in the rain during the next few days, so even if it came out in the light rain today, it would end up wet tomorrow.

Unlike Virginia’s blues, which never hit, the «half -way fall» certainly has. But it is mainly in errors. I can deal with heat and can deal with the rain. But a mosquito in some way, through two layers of socks and permethrine, I had even bitten in my ankle! What made my right foot swell and not feel good. That, in addition to getting used to new shoes … has hurt.

Breakfast in Goodies was delicious, and enjoyed the company of the two women. In Front Royal, in Mountain Home, there were not so many of the hikers who started from Amicalola to hang out, so it was fun to see what they were doing, who they met, etc.

Speaking of shoes, after returning to the liter, I contacted Rob from outdoor76 in some shoes ideas. Then we launched a 40 -minute call, where I could pick up your brain in what happens. It results … The Olympus used to be a great shoe for pronators! In the 4 and 5 (which were available in Tco Outdoors …), they had a guide rail on the medial side. Now there is no. We discussed multiple options, including the story of my shoe and my foot history, and the following occurred to them.

For now, to avoid injuries, it should actually eliminate The template of my Olympus. Having the template there, eliminates the ability of my foot to interact with the shoe and the ground. The Olympus, unlike a boot, will mold to the shape of my foot and, hopefully, it will feel better with a little time. The second was perhaps looking back to the lonely peaks after ending the rocks in PA and NJ. My foot, after all, is probably much stronger than it was in North Carolina. So there is no shame to try it again. Why not? Why not.

Then I took some time to write some postcards, and then I took a great nap. I got some ice cream from a local creamería in the middle, and a little pizza, but I was on and out of the raining all day, and I didn’t want to walk too much. I felt lazy! Finally, I was able to take a 20 -minute nap, but it didn’t do much.

I sat down to write a little around 3 in the afternoon, trying to catch up with some of the days I had lost before. But, it is difficult to write in a bunk. Especially one without desk. There are only many distractions, and it is tempting to socialize. Treetop was also looking at the rain, Cosmo and Tall Boy were watching HBO’s Girlsetc., I wrote for a while, I took a small replenishment based on snacks from the fast local Mart to clarify my head and wrote a little more. Interestingly, I didn’t even have to take anything for lunch or tomorrow’s dinner. I still have the same dinners that I returned in Harpers Ferry, and the same lunch I had a few days ago in Sheetz.

Finally, around 5, the perfect day, with whom I was in contact, appeared in the shelter. It was good to see her again, being the most consistent person I have found since Front Royal. We took dinner at Doyle Hotel Near, since the brewery was closed. And it was … okay? The asparagus side was small, but at least Pita pork tacos were relatively good. I just didn’t feel so hungry for some reason. Probably because I’ve been sitting all day! Uh oh, something else to pack tomorrow …

Everyone spent the night in the shelter with looks convicted in our eyes. We know what is coming. Rain and tons of it. I suppose that is better than the dry spell and the heat wave last year. But walking in the rain is not exactly attractive either. Especially because I know what else comes. More errors. I hate mistakes. Why mistakes.
