Day 112-13 Miles today from my route 17 to me Route 4, 2300 feet up, 2900 feet down
Hyoh
Walk your own walk. I have found many different versions of walking of your own walk. I met some people who had two cars and moved a car from a place along the path and then moved between the cars. I met a platinum blazer who was doing everything possible to loosen the entire path and not spend nights outside the forest. There are many ways to walk this path.
I enjoyed having Knockerz back with me. It was very nice to have been able to wear only a few days of food and the minimum of supplies. He had his car full of replenishment articles. It makes my walk much more efficient.
It is a completely different experience when you have to carry everything you need on this walk. You should carefully consider where you need to replenish so as not to bring too much food.
Unfortunately, Knockerz is having to return home. So I will complete the rest of the walk without it and its replenishment support.
Maine
Maine was not as remote as I thought it would be. At the end of the 1980s, Knockerz and I lived in the back of a truck and travel.
We drove the Alaska road and at that time the 1000 miles were extremely remote. A large section was not paved. When I arrived here to Maine, I expected something similar.
But in reality it is less populated and there are resistant mountains, but it is never far from civilization. I am quite surprised by the abundance of options to get out of the way if necessary.
Fast walk
Today I have a simple day package to take me to Route 4. Vinir of Route 17 was a roca face that was heading to Spruce Mountain.
The path after that had some climbs, but in general there were very few obstacles.
With the very light day package on, I was walking at a rate of almost 3 miles per hour to start. He always feels incredible when he walks without his complete backpack.
Command time
It was in an open forest with small pines and low growth in the forest floor when some magic occurred.
A Loon flew over his mysterious call. Then I looked up and saw a beautiful tan dear in the forest.
This area has been dry and is under a drought at this time. Dry conditions have facilitated river crossings. You can clearly see that these rivers explode with water, but now they are small domesticated Brooks with easy rock hops to cross them. The disadvantage is that water sources are not reliable.
Fast and furious
The path uploaded a rocky crest around Saturday’s day. Then he descended to the pond and on Saturday he leaned down. In the pond there was a beautiful sand beach and a beautiful area to swim. It was very peaceful.
The path began the climb to Piper Mountain. The first part of which were rocks that were easily navigable.
I stopped lunch and after that I didn’t remember much more than walking very fast. It only took me this section of 13 miles 6 hours.
