Real Madrid team news: Eder Militao sustains groin injury in Brazil vs. Tunisia

Real Madrid’s Brazilian defender Eder Militao has suffered a groin injury, the Spanish club confirmed on Wednesday, without specifying how long he would be sidelined.

“Following tests carried out today (Wednesday) by Real Madrid’s medical team, our player Eder Militao has been diagnosed with a muscle injury to his groin,” the club said in a statement.

The 27-year-old felt a sharp pain in the 58th minute of the international friendly between Brazil and Tunisia in Lille, which ended 1-1, prompting him to ask to come off the pitch.

Spanish media have reported that the centre-back will be out of action for around two weeks, meaning he will miss Sunday’s La Liga match against Elche and next week’s visit to Girona, as well as next Wednesday’s Champions League match against Olympiakos.
