Yo He recently tested the Rei Co-Op Xerocloud 3L Rain jacket. This three -layer rain jacket is waterproof and is designed for the use of hiking and backpack. Its planned audience varies from hikers from one day to backpackers and can be used in a variety of temperatures and conditions.
Rei Co-Op Xerocloud 3L Spes of rain jacket:
MSRP: $ 189.00
Weight: 11.3 – 13.4 ounces
Material: 72% of recycled nylon/28% recycled polyester
Review circumstance
Moisture is close to the outside of the jacket without immersing itself.
I used this rainy jacket in several days and backpack trips during the night during the winter and spring months. He wore the rain jacket in rain and snow conditions that varied in temperatures from the 30s to the 60s (° F).

Three -layer jackets tend to be superior for the rain test and breathability compared to two -layer jackets because they have an external external cloth of Nylon and polyester, a waterproof/breathable membrane and a sponsor of jersey fabric. They are heavier than 2.5 layer jackets (which are commonly used by hikers), but this makes three -layer jackets more breathable in a humid climate.
Rei Hydrowall material is a patented membrane that does not have as much breathability as a traditional material like Gore-Tex, but allows a much lower price compared to other rain jackets.

Ro-co-on xerocloud 3l rain jacket Pros
Waterproof: The Xerocloud definitely affirms that it is impermeable and, in my opinion, it is the most valuable aspect of this jacket. After using several consecutive hours in the rain, the jacket still kept me dry and warm and continued with water and wick instead of absorbing it over time.
The cordon waist also helps keep warm and, along with the length of the jacket, this really helped keep the majority of my shorts dry while walking during the rain continues. Adjustable Velcro doll fists also showed very well to keep water out of my sleeves even with continuous movement.
Even after taking off his jacket, I shook it a couple of times and most of the water with accounts slid immediately.
The structure of the hood with the ability to close my back with a cord and the resistant visor was also a great advantage for me. There is nothing worse than your hood constantly flying from your head while walking in a storm and the hood structure of this jacket prevented it and kept it adjusted against my head.
Pockets: The Xerocloud has two hip pockets and a chest pocket, all with excellent zip zip zip and a wide space to store snacks, a wallet, one phone and more. I was able to keep my phone in your hip pockets for hours in the rain without absorbing any condensation. However, the pocket of the chest was a bit inside during the same amount of time.
The Xerocloud also has the benefit of being able to fold and store in its own pocket for easy storage.
Comfort: The Xerocloud was extremely comfortable. The adjustment was faithful to size if it plans layers. I was able to wear a sweatshirt and a comfortably swollen jacket and not yet felt restrictive.
Stretch: Xerocloud stretch was definitely a great advantage for me. There is nothing worse than walking all day in the rain under a jacket that feels constrictor or motionless and I had no limitation of movement with this jacket. In fact, I forgot that I even wore a rain jacket for the most part.
Breathability: The disadvantage of most waterproof rain jackets is that they tend not to be very breathable and can cause sweat to the user while walking, but even after spending hours using the xerocloud while walking in the rain, I felt hot and dry without feeling hot and sweaty!
The additional feature of the boxes of Boxes is a great sales factor for me, since we all know the struggle to try to stay fresh, but also dry, during an steep climb under the rain and boxes of boxes allowed an easy way to help ventilate without having to take my jacket.
Options: The Xerocloud comes in s sizes – 3xl for men and XS – 3xl for women and also has a high option for men. It comes in five different colors: blue lutita (blue/blue green lutita for men), stone green/celery, orange gust, raisins/pepper and black that gives buyers a large number of color options.
Price label: In $ 189 msrp, this rain jacket is definitely a cheaper option than other 3l rain jackets.

Fit: While Xerocloud is definitely waterproof and comfortable, I didn’t love how he looked at me. I felt that the lower part of the jacket was too wide and looks a little swimmer in thinner people.
If you are looking for a visually attractive and tight jacket, it probably is not everything.
Weight: With a weight of 11.3 to 13.4 ounces, the Xerocloud is not considered an ultralight jacket and is probably a bit heavy for most ultralight through hikers.
General value
In general, I think Xerocloud is a great jacket for those looking for a truly waterproof rain jacket. This is a great choice for both hikers and backpackers who have a budget and are looking for a reliable rain jacket.
Due to its weight, I would not recommend it to the ultraligueros through hikers looking for a jacket to wear on a drier path like the PCT, but in reality I would have preferred to have a jacket like it is on a path like the AT compared to the ultralight jacket that I suit that always seemed to absorb water.
I would definitely wear this jacket as my option to walk, short backpack trips, a daily rain jacket for winter, and consider it for a wet walk.
