The Premier League is planning to introduce points deduction for serious infringements of expenses, which may be present for next season.
According to a report in The guardianA fixed rate would be imposed on teams for excessive expenditure under the draft proposal for Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) system, which was shared with the clubs during a shareholders’ meeting.
Each club that breaks the SCR by 30% is affected with a six -point fine, while extra points can be deducted, depending on more serious infringements of the spending plint.
The new system is proposed to limit the expenditure for transfers, player wage and agent costs to 85% of the turnover of a club. Smaller infringements would be punished by financial fines that are proportional to the higher amount.
