Wolverhampton Wanderers, the last-placed team in the Premier League, continued their revival by holding Newcastle United to a 0–0 draw, extending their unbeaten run to five games in all competitions.
Wolves collected just two points from the first eighteen league games, but gained six points from the last four. However, they are still 14 points from safety and look destined to return to the second Championship after eight years in the top flight.
Wolves need four more points to avoid the lowest ever total in a single Premier League season: 11 from Derby County in the 2007-08 season.
