Joao Mendes, the son of Brazil Great Ronaldinho, has signed a one-year contract with Hull City Under-21 Side, said the Second-Tier Championship club Thursday.
The 20-year-old came up through the Barcelona youth arrangement before moving to Burnley in 2024. He regularly played for their U-9 team, but was released earlier this year.
The deal contains an option for an extension of one year.

«I think it’s good to be able to play in different football styles,» Mendes said in a statement.
«In Brazil it is one style, Spain is another, and England is another, so I think it supplements your game really well when you have played in different places.»
Ex-Barcelona player Ronaldinho, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 and was awarded the Ballon d’Or in 2005, posted a photo of Mendes with a hull sweater on Instagram with the caption: «Good luck with your new club and challenge, my son.»
