Host rescue

It took me some time to sleep last night, which was strange. With the stench of wet socks hanging next to my head, I entered and left a light dream at the beginning. I was excited about the possibility of getting to a shelter tomorrow night.

I needed to get up early to walk 17 miles to the collection point. I woke up at 4:30. My first step was to make two batteries of wet and soaked clothing. I will get wet and take the extra kilos of the wet. Everything is wet.

It took me about an hour to put everything ready. Breakfast consisted of a pop-tarta, half Bagel and some mini muffins that Magic Trail trail in Williamston. I also made my milkshake that I do every morning, which contains a high dose of chocolate serum protein, half -instant breakfast of carnation and two sometimes three preferably instant coffee packages preferably Cafés Bustillo.

I put my wet clothes stinky but not soaked that has been sitting at the bottom of my backpack for several days. The clothes I had yesterday was still soaked. I know that I worry at least 5 pounds of extra water from my humid equipment and my wet clothes.

Red

I got on the path a little before 6:00 am, it didn’t spend much time before I started looking for a porcupine. It was a bit misty, but I had a beautiful view. Actually, it was a bit cold since the temperatures were probably in the 60s lower in mid -mid.

The path then made a soft climb to Little Pond Lookout. It was a cloudy day, so there was no view.

The path has become a lot of mud through which Vermont is famous. For the most part, I can avoid going to mud with small walks, rocks, roots and things I can step on. It is beneficial for me to have long legs and be able to reach non -deep mud sections. I am moving at a rate of more than 2 miles per hour. I am not deliberately pressing, but I know that my rhythm is faster because I am excited to get a fast restart tonight in the shelter.

Vacuum of the soul

While descending Glastonbury Lookout, suddenly I realized that the forest is deadly in silence. It is shortly after 7:00 am, so birds should make their calls. But at this time there is not a single sound in the forest. Apart from my steps.

And then I remember yesterday. You can read about yesterday’s drama in my publication, so I will not repeat the drama, but yesterday I was very beaten.

It seemed that one thing after another was hitting me physically and mentally. He got so bad that he wanted to scream to stop!

It was then that he heard a voice of God explaining that he needed to empty. I do not mean emptiness in a negative sense. I mean vacuum in a state of cleanliness.

Originally this walk had begun for a specific purpose and objective. In this walk so far, I have had many experiences that have helped me towards that goal.

It was not long before the Glastonbury Lookout arrived. The last 2 miles had passed in a meditative state enjoying the forest’s silence trying to remain empty inside. I was trying to eliminate all my thoughts and emptied me inside.

Beautiful ponds

The climb to Goddard’s shelter was very steep and really slowed me. He had been deploying at a rate of more than 2 miles per hour and this climb was probably half of that rhythm.

While descending to Kid Gore Shelter, I began to see lots of sawdust. It was almost as if someone had been cutting trees, but no trees had been cut. I looked up and I could see a tree that I suppose it is an ashes. I had seen some explained signs presented by the forest service for a wooden ashes borer that I suppose it is an invasive species. I wonder if these sawdust batteries were one of those creatures.

The path continued in upper monotonous on many rocks and obstacles. Before the spring shelter in history, I arrived at an area of ponds that was covered with multiple Castor ponds. It was a beautiful scene, but that means that flies and insects will begin to attack me soon.

Go up and more than a small mountain arrived to the road and waited for my collection to the shelter.
