Bangladesh defeated Nepal 3-2 in an exciting group phase on the Saff U-20 Women’s Championship 2025 on Sunday in the Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka.
With this victory, Bangladesh remains the only undefeated team in the tournament after two games and collects six points.
In the 13th minute the host took the lead through the Sinha Shikha strike. The movement started with Munki Akhter, who received the ball on the edge of the box. Although he was a player, Nepal assembled a late comeback to match the score 2-2. In the 77th minute Anisha Rai converted the place after her teammate Meena was polluted in the box by Joynob Rita in Bangladesh.
When in the 86th minute Meena and Purnima combined after using a very high line that was played by the defense of the host, with the first the equalizer.
The joy of Nepal fans, however, was briefly when Trishna Rani delivered the winner, deep in stopping, with the last staircase of the game.
The two teams meet again on July 21, the last day of the tournament, the winner of which will be assessed after a double round Robin phase.
Earlier in the day, Bhutan Sri Lanka defeated 5-0 with Kelden Wangmo and Sangay Wangmo Braces while Namsel Wangzom also found the back of the net.
