Saff U17 Women’s Championships 2025: India thrashes Bhutan 5-0 to expand the dominant run


India shot five goals beyond a listless Bhutan side in the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu on Wednesday to choose his fourth consecutive victory over the Saff Under-17 Women’s Championship.

Anushka Kumari scored twice on Wednesday and helped the fifth and brought her personal count to seven goals in the tournament so far. The other goals were scored by Shveta Rani, Julan Nongmaithem and Mira Chanu Longjam.

India opened his account in the fourth minute, when a perfect-threaded pass from the center circle found the defense of Bhutan Split and Anushka on the edge of the box. With the help of her electric pace, she hit her marker and went quietly past Bhutan’s goalkeeper Kelzang Wangmo.

Anushka added her count in the 16th minute with a free kick after Julan Nongmaithem was polluted on the edge of the area.

India’s third goal in the 24th minute came as a result of a goalkeeper error. A bad clearance from Wangmo Ricochde from Pearl Fernandes and was friendly in the path of Shveta, who responded and slid into an open net.

The fourth goal finally came in the 77th minute. Abhista Basnett played a smart pass from the edge of the box to find Captain Julan Nongmaithem, who launched a strike on goal.

Mira hit the stop time in the fifth minute to complete the five -star performance.
