Saudi Pro League 2025-26: Ronaldo scores winner as Al Nassr beat Damac 2-1

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the decisive goal as Al Nassr defeated Damac 2-1 in their 2025-2026 Saudi Pro League match at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in Abha on Wednesday.

Abdulrahman Ghareeb scored the opener and Ronaldo doubled the lead while Jamal Harkass got on the scoresheet for the home side.

The result leaves Al Nassr temporarily four points behind leaders Al Hilal, who host Al Feiha on Thursday, while Damac, still searching for its second win of the season, is 15th, just one spot away from the relegation zone.

Having scored just four points from the previous five games, Al Nassr looked to be on a mission from the start and was rewarded for his persistence in the fifth minute. Kingsley Coman carried the ball to the goal line on the right wing and interrupted a pass which took a deflection and fell kindly to Ghareeb. The 28-year-old remained calm and faked a shot with his left hand before firing it into the bottom left corner to take the lead.

Ronaldo almost doubled the lead five minutes later after a nice cross from Joao Felix, who played with the outside of his boot, but his header went straight to the goalkeeper.

Felix then had back-to-back chances from similar positions in the penalty area in the closing stages of the first half, but the Portuguese forward skied his first attempt while the crossbar denied him the second time.

Al Nassr started the second half with the same intensity as the first, and five minutes later Ronaldo scored his sixteenth goal of the season after receiving another pass into the penalty area from Felix. This time the 41-year-old made no mistake as he found the back of the net for the first time from a tight angle.

Damac pulled one back with just over 20 minutes of regular time remaining after an unmarked Harkass guided the ball past Bento following a cross from a corner at the near post.

However, it was not enough as Al Nassr held on to the lead to take all three points.
