Bayer Leverkusen-striker Patrik Schick says that his team is unable to fight for the German Bundesliga title without new signing sessions, after Granit Xhaka has joined a series of title-winning players to leave the club.
Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is confronted with an even greater reconstruction as the new coach of Leverkusen after midfielder Xhaka had arrived at Sunderland from the English Premier League.
Offensive midfielder Florian Wirtz, immediately back Jeremie Frimpong and defender Jonathan Tah-Allemaal all crucial for Leverkusen’s League and Cup Double in 2024 left the club outside season and coach Xabi Alonso left for Real Madrid.
«The most important players have disappeared and that clearly hurts,» said Schick, who was from Leverkusen last season with 27 goals in 45 games, said Sky Sport Germany In an interview released at the end of Wednesday.
«At the moment we hope that we can still get a few good players, because we are currently not in a position where we are able to fight for the title.»

Czech striker Schick said, as an attacker, he had the most attacking midfielder Wirtz because «the quality he has is very difficult to find», but that Xhaka is the biggest loss for the team as a whole.
«He was a leader,» said Schick. «He was the player with the most experience.»
Most of the spending outside the season of Leverkusen so far is to the American attacking midfielder Malik Tillman of PSV Eindhoven and former Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah. The club has also signed Brentford’s highly appreciated goalkeeper Mark Flekken.
However, Schick Koos a lesser -known name as his most impressive signature of the summer. Ibrahim Maza, a 19-year-old midfielder signed with the second German German club Hertha Berlin, is «really a good player,» he said.
