Serhou Guirassy Brace leads Borussia Dortmund to victory over Union Berlin


A goal in every half of Serhou Guirassy and a Late Felix Nmecha Rocket lifted Borussia Dortmund to a 3-0 home victory on Union Berlin on Sunday.

Guirassy scored both sides of the peace to give Dortmund in control and he has now scored in each of their last nine games.

Nmecha ensured that no repetition of last week’s late collapse in St Pauli would be repeated, in which he throws the volley in by nine minutes.

After struggling against the third class Essen in the German cup and had fallen into a disappointing draw in St Pauli in their season opener, the game was a welcome return to form in front of coach Niko Kovac.

Kovac extended his deal in the club by a year until 2027 on Monday.

«We had to respond because we played a bad game at St Pauli. Of course it is much easier to play for our fans,» Guirassy told Dazn, and added: «Today we played a good game. Now we have to follow that path.»

Guirassy wasted a golden chance to put Dortmund in the front after 21 minutes, on a bad back card in pounding but directly to the ‘keeper.

De Guinese gave Dortmund the lead when he stuck a Yan Couto cross home with 44 minutes.

Guirassy doubled Dortmund’s lead in the 58th minute and took the goalkeeper to finish a smart team movement when it was forwarded by Maximilian Beier.

Manchester City Junior Nmecha added the finishing touch in the 83rd minute with an emphatic shot from the edge of the box.

Dortmund scored 21 goals in their last six home games against Union, with only five winning every match.

A Dortmund player since Thursday, Chelsea -Leenlee Aaron Anselmino was impressed by the central defense during the debut.
