Igor Tudor’s shot at Juventus yielded immediate results.
The Bianconeri defeated visiting Udinese 3-1 in Serie A on Wednesday, ending an eight-match winless streak dating back to mid-September.
Defender Federico Gatti headed in the winner for Juventus after Dusan Vlahovic opened the scoring by earning and converting a penalty. Kenan Yildiz sealed it by also earning and converting a penalty in injury time.
Tudor was sacked on Monday after three consecutive defeats. Interim coach Massimo Brambilla managed the team against Udinese, with former Napoli and Italy coach Luciano Spalletti expected to be named the club’s new manager on Thursday.
“Spalletti is a great coach, with experience and a modern style of football,” Juventus advisor Giorgio Chiellini said before kick-off, before adding: “We have to wait because there is no signature yet.”

The victory moved Juventus to seventh place, six points behind Italian leaders Napoli and Roma.
Roma drew level with Napoli with a 2-1 win over Parma. Inter Milan defeated winless Fiorentina 3-0 to move back up to third place, three points behind the leaders.
At the Stadio Olimpico, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side finally showed an attacking spark that was missing under the attack-oriented coach.
Central defender Mario Hermoso scored his first goal with Roma by diverting a header into a corner at the back post. Then striker Artem Dovbyk doubled the lead by turning in a rebound. Four minutes before the end, Alessandro Circati scored for Parma.
Roma also saw a potential goal from Matias Soule wiped out after a VAR review, Leon Bailey wasted an open look at goal when he missed wide from close range, and Paulo Dybala had an acrobatic header stopped with a fingertip save.
At San Siro, Inter recovered from a 3-1 defeat at Napoli with three goals in the second half. Hakan Calhanoglu scored with a long-range effort that appeared to surprise Fiorentina goalkeeper David de Gea, who may have had his view blocked.

High-spending Como also defeated Hellas Verona 3-1 with goals from Tasos Douvikas, Stefan Posch and Mërgim Vojvoda to move back to fifth place.
Federico Bonazzoli scored twice for promoted Cremonese in a 2-0 win in Genoa as Jamie Vardy’s new team moved to eighth place.
