Serie A referees will start announcing VAR decisions live in stadiums and on television from next season, referee -Despite Gianluca Rocchi told Italian media on Tuesday.
Rocchi described the move as an important step forward in communication between referees and the public, and said that the goal was to make official decisions faster and clearer.
«We have a select group of civil servants and we want to ensure that the language is as uniform as possible, so that decisions can be clear to the public,» said Rocchi.
The concept of referees that explains decisions to the crowd has also been investigated in countries such as England and Germany.
The Serie A season starts on August 23.
