Jamie Vardy says he feels just as fit as always and wants to prove the doubters if the 38-year-old starts a new chapter in his career at the Serie A Club Cremonese.
Vardy joined Cremonese after leaving Leicester City, where he scored 200 goals in 500 performances during a 13-year-old spell.
His move came after Kevin De Bruyne (34) and Luka Modric (40) also arrived in the Italian flight, and when a reporter was asked if veterans were still motivated to perform at the highest level, Vardy said his desire was not dimmed.
«You have to be one of the doubters. You are one that I have had to prove,» he said Wednesday.

“For me, age is just a number. As long as … My legs do exactly what they had to do in the past and still feel as fresh as they do, then I will continue.
«At the moment there are no signs that they are slowing down, so I will continue and I will give everything for this club.»
Cremonese has made a flying start in the Serie A with victories over Sassuolo and AC Milan, making it third with six points from two games.
Vardy, who was part of the Leicester side that won the Premier League in 2016, said that everyone at the club would keep their feet firmly on the floor.
«The main task is to ensure that we stay in the competition, and to be honest, it was when I was in Leicester,» said Vardy.
«It was never anything,» we’re going to go for this, «it was always:» We have to stay in the competition, «that’s the most important thing. So everything you do, you go out, you take every game one by one, give everything, what will be.»
Vardy was able to do his first performance for Cremonese in Verona on Monday.
