Manchester United has completed the signing of Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig on a five-year deal, the Premier League club announced on Saturday.
At 22, Sesko is one of the most promising young strikers in the world and was one of the leading markings in the Bundesliga. The attacker scored 13 goals in 33 games in the 2024-25 season to end the ninth in the Golden Boot classification.
Since his move from the Austrian Bundesliga club RB Salzburg to Leipzig in the summer of 2023, Sesko has scored 27 goals in 64 performances. The striker also scored six goals in 16 performances in the UEFA Champions League in the past two years.
Sesko has won 16 goals in 41 performances for the Slovenian national team since he made his debut in 2021. The team qualified for the round of 16 in Euro 2024 but was defeated by Portugal on penalties.
Despite his target-per-game ratio that does not inspire much trust, Sesko has age by his side and is expected to develop into one of the leading strikers in Europe.

Sesko is the fourth summer signing in United after the arrivals of Forward’s Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbuemo and defender Diego Leon.
