Be delayed on the stinky path. I guess being delayed in general stinks. It is difficult when a key is thrown in their plans and there is nothing to do more to face this new reality. However, my unofficial motto to take a step is to roll with the blows. What else do you have to do, give up? Not today Satan!
My English key began approximately a week ago when I noticed that my morning cat’s excavation sessions produced more than normal. Now, the diet through those provided to the most normal deposits to the earth, often the food of the greasy city can make a number in its stomach. But after several days of this and one in particular that made me walk along the way several times (not normal to me) something seemed bad.
Great Lake
The culmination of what was happening reached a critical point in Grand Lake, where I made three zeros in a row. This was not by choice but by necessity. The first day, I had breakfast with John Boy and numbers and shortly after I felt nauseous and disgusting. I went to replenish and I had to leave the store to sit at the picnic tables outside. After a while, the numbers suggested to go to the community center. I agreed.
In the hiker’s room, I went to bed on the floor and a nap. Later in the day numbers and walked to a taco place where a burrito snorted. I finished approximately half. The other half took me about 3 hours finally going down.
One of the positive aspects of this delay is that I have to meet Flash, Lucky and Crafty whom I have not seen from Dubois about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Everyone seemed good and happy to see me. He had mounted a bicycle to the store to replenish and they were there. It began to rain and we all sit outside in chairs and tables under a canopy catching up. Matcha had also joined his group of hikers whom he had met in Pindale. Finally, there was a break in the rain and we went to our separate forms.
The next day was Sunday and decided to go to a small church in a barn. I still felt disgust after and decided to walk to Steve’s house. I met Steve that morning at the Community Center. We have to talk and he offered me a place to stay in his bunk.

After arriving and being shown around, I went to bed most of the day. Finally I got up and walked towards Deli for a sandwich and the store for ice cream.
I ended up staying in Steve’s for 2 nights and spent most of the day of work with him. I needed to get a new toilet seat in the next city on Granby, but no longer drives on roads. He asked me if I would be willing to drive it and I forced him.
Granby had an outdoor store where I could take a new water filter and a lighthouse. The employee had walked AT and was trying to solve a transport system for hikers to Granby.
Steve bought us both lunch from Subway and Brots to cook on the grill for dinner. What a good boy.
Time to leave
The next day I walked to the center and got a roll of cinnamon and coffee. I ate and felt good and without hurry to leave the city. Finally, Steve appeared in his truck and talked and drank coffee for a moment. I returned to his place in his truck and after gathering my things and thanking Steve, I finally left Grand Lake.

The day was quite a cruise walking in addition to lakes and rivers during most of the day. Finally, the climb began and climbed and climbed along the path woven by the forest and the mountains equally. After making 29.7 miles, I found a floor place right next to the path while the sun stood.
The next day I was exhausted. Maybe I pressed too much after 3 consecutive days. Welp. There is nothing to do it!
After climbing, the path remained quite high most of the day. Up and down along the ridges. You could see Winter Park below and the ski hill on the side of the mountain through the valley.
I soon arrived at my first 13th of the path, James Peak. It seemed impressive and I tightened my eyes to see how the path came to the top. The climb was slow and laborious, but with persistence I reached the top.

When I reviewed my map, I saw that the path left about 3,000 feet to a valley of the river just to rise 3,000 feet and cume another 13er, flora. Oh! I’m not sure to get to Winter Park today.
I did not.
After falling to the river valley, grab water and take a little break, I climbed the mountain. I felt so tired. I had to take a break because I felt on.
Before the final thrust to the summit, the path is flattened in a valley with a river. I picked up and enough water to spend the night and find a camp a little beyond the river. It’s just 5 pm and I’ve done just 20 miles and I’m poop! Winter Park would have to wait for the morning. After establishing the camp, cooking and eating, I faint.
In the city
The next morning, I am awake and shed around 7 am. Immediately, the path goes up and the wind begins to whip and push me on the side of the exposed mountain. I have to sit down and eat arabar. My head feels light and dizzy again.
I keep going knowing that I only have 6.5 miles for Berthound Pass, where I will take a trip in Winter Park. The wind is a fierce and a bit disturbing presence on such a small path.
After a few hours, I get to the top of Flora, I take some photos and videos, then go down. The wind is worse, if possible, in the decent. I spend at least 20 days hikers who come from the road to the top. The wind puts a chill in my bones and a PEP in my step while almost jogging through the mountain.
Once I arrive at the parking lot, a man with a garden chair acclaim me surrounded by refrigerators. Magic of the path! I grab a coca -cola and I feel and start chatting with the two knights there. After 15 minutes or so, I go to the road to hitch. As soon as my thumb, a car stops immediately and offers me a walk! The fastest hitch of the path so far!

I finish staying at Winter Park for three days. Fortunately, my uncle has a house just one mile from the main strip and gently put me.
After my first night in the city, I packed all my things and left my uncles house for a McDonalds breakfast. After an egg sandwich and sausage cheese and sausages (accidentally obtained a spicy one, I did not know that it was one thing), I proceed to sit at the restaurant feeling miserable. PERTERIALLY ARRIVE TO USE THE FACILITIES.
After taking a sprite for 30 minutes and a lot of debate in my mind, I walked towards a clinic that was taking without appointment that day. I completed my forms and waited patiently feeling a little defeated that I had come to this, but knowing that I could not continue if I could barely eat.
They soon called me back, backpack and everything, and I weighed. 157 pounds, alas! I do not think it was so low in addition to reaching that first weight in high school.

After a brief wait in a small room where the doctor enters. She is a hiker and recently had been on a trip to the winds with her daughter. After some questions and a brief exam, she says: «Well, you have to tell me what you want to do. Do you want to shoot this and throw several medications? Or do you want to take a sample of blood and feces for the tests?»
…… «Let’s do the shotgun»
I’m glad to say that so far the shotgun seems to be working. After a day or two of taking an acid blocker and something else, I feel much better. I can eat and not feel nausea. Hiking has become much more pleasant as I continue south.
I have climbed my first 14th of the trip, Grays, the highest point in the continental divide trail! I continued accumulating four more on that same day, carrying my total accent won for a day at 9,000 feet!

I arrived at the Colorado Trail section of the CDT! About 300 miles with much more traffic and maintained through the heart of Colorado. I have already walked these 300 miles in 2022 when I walked along the Colorado path, but I am excited to walk again.
The path brings many turns and turns and unexpected challenges. You never know what you will bring every day no matter how it begins. I know that whatever the path that I throw, I will roll with the blows. What else do you have to do? Abandon? Not today Satan!
