Spent 45 unconscious minutes in pond 0.00

The double dinner last night and a very quiet camp conspired to allow me a rare dream until 6 in the morning. I woke up feeling renewed and excited to continue drawing through southern Maine. The quality of the path in recent days had been excellent, and the curves had returned cheerful to the path. You cannot exaggerate how much difference makes a good path with respect to the enjoyment of a walk.

He had not stirred at this time by any of the French language groups, and the forest was happily calm. I packed and was on the road around 6.30 in the morning, aware that it would be a long day with a lot of escalation once again.

Heat

The first hill on the road today was Baldpate. The hill was certainly up to the first part of its name, without a tree in sight. It was a really pleasant way to start the day with a clear and easy road and 360 ° views.

After admiring the opinions for a few minutes, it was time to descend to a chair between Calds. Another decent climb followed to complete the entire baldness.

It is also good to see a return to signaling at the top of the hills. Of course, it is a very small number (and perhaps even smaller if logic prevailed and the courtyards were used as an elevation measure instead of the ridiculously applied feet), it remains a good feeling when any peak will accumulate to see where it has to do it.

The weather was perfect for wandering today. Blue skies, endless views and beautiful forests, all combined to make a fantastic day. It is often said that Maine is the visual culminating point of the path, and although only a couple of days have passed, I can see how this could be true.

The confrontation

Occasionally he meets part of wildlife along the way. I have already had failures with bears and snakes, and constantly I hope to have more of these fantastic encounters while they walk me.

So I was super excited that an advance prevented by a bird. Yes, it’s true, a bird. Not any bird, an intrepid bird. A bird that seems to have forgotten that it is in fact a small animal that could easily become my lunch, it was so inclined. It also seems to have forgotten that I could fly.

This beautiful Urogallo decided to behave like Gandalf on the Khazad-Dum bridge. He had nothing about the idea that he should continue with what was clearly his part of the path. This impossiblely dangerous confrontation continued for fifteen minutes.

Finally, I decided to dare to dream that I could give this immovable obstacle and advance with caution. With great reluctance and absolutely no fear, the Urogallo gave me the smallest gap so that I could continue along the way. An exciting encounter.

Surplus

Around lunch time, I rolled around another lake as slightly incorrect as a pond. It looked better for the sight of alces, so I took out my hammock and placed myself to be on the driver while I gave my usual tortilla party for his livelihood.

Chestnut arrived shortly after I had mocked my last cast. He did the same and then we both fell asleep quickly. Many people would refer to this midday dream like a nap.

45 minutes later I woke up feeling renewed. After a solid -up scan that did not realize any results, I packed the hammock and began to walk once more.

A few hours without incident later I arrived at the camp at night. It had been another difficult day on the road with a lot of gain and loss of elevation, and I was glad to see the shelter.

A couple of other hikers arrived early in the afternoon, and after a quick talk and a delicious Suplise of Ramen Pad Thai, it was time to rest.
