Super Cup: Bissouma fell from Spurs’ Squad, Solanke Fit for PSG Clash

Tottenham Hotspur -midfielder Yves Bissouma was dropped out of the team for Wednesday’s Super Cup collision to Paris St. Germain because of his slowness, said manager Thomas Frank.

Frank also confirmed that striker Dominic Solanke will be available for the start of the new season, despite the fact that they have shown only one of Spurs’ friendly matches for the season due to an ankle injury.

Speaking on Tuesday before the European Seasonal Current booster between the Champions League winners and second-class Europa League champion, Frank said: “Bissouma has been late several times and now it was too many.

«With everything you have to give your players a lot of love, but also have requirements and have consequences. And this was the result of that.»

New arrival Joao Palhinha, on loan from Bayern Munich, could play instead of Ivorian’s in Mali International Bissouma, although Tottenham will be without playmaker James Maddison, who will have a long spell on the sidelines with an ACL injury.

The term of office of new manager Frank could start with a shine of silverware if Spurs succeed in beating the European champion PSG, which was defeated by Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup final last month. The Dane added that a lighter preseason since the Europa League triumph on 21 May could give its relatively better equipped side a lead over the French team.

«We had a more normal preseason, what every coach would prefer. That way it can be an advantage. But on the other hand they had a long season and they recently played many games,» Frank said.

“It’s the right time to tackle PSG. We are ready. I am 100% convinced that it will be very supercompetitive tomorrow.

«But of course they are in a better place to perform better all season. But in a single game we will be ready.»

Although Spurs are without a former Captain Son Heung-Min after his move to MLS-Zij-LAFC, Frank said that their Argentinian World Cup-winning defender Cristian Romero would be a key figure.

«Romero will be a very important and experienced player for the team. He will be a whole, very big player for us tomorrow,» he said.

«He is someone who has been in a big final and she has won. He knows for sure how to win them.»
