I almost didn’t write this article.
I almost didn’t write this because I have no great reasons. I don’t hike for a cause. I don’t go hiking to cure anything, escape anything, or prove anything. Please don’t confuse me, this is not to belittle any great why you have. Those are good too.
But I don’t have one and there’s a lot of cultural pressure against doing things just because you want to. Everything has to be justified, knowing that the public will weigh it on a scale of their own values. Lihat juga Detalles adicionales. I want to balance that pressure. So this article was written to say: You can go on a hike just because you want to.
You don’t need reasons to hike the AT, or rather, it just needs to be: Because you want to.
And that’s fine.
It’s your life you should live, and if you want to live it through hiking, do it.
