The beginning of the adventure!

time to go

So the time for debating equipment, food, resupply and delivery is over. It’s time to repackage everything, decide what is safe and how much. The things I pondered in my head for a year have reached a point of no return.

Bye

Saying goodbye to family and friends seems overly dramatic, but it needs to be done. Everyone wishing you the best and asking those final questions about every detail. Everyone’s worry can be a little overwhelming. Some people wish you well and walk away, others just grab your face and tell you to be ‘very careful’, which will slowly and seriously make you feel safer. It is interesting that some people are seriously concerned about their safety, when they have already mentally assumed those concerns.

Adventure

It’s time to load the car and head south. My wife and I love driving because we talk non-stop when we go places. The other part is that we were heading somewhere we had never been, so of course we were excited. «Adventure» should be my wife’s middle name. Your attitude and confirmation are the fuel that drives me. Being blessed by her is something that happens every day and I couldn’t be more grateful!

Delivery day/start time

We decided not to hike the access trail, but instead drop off on the logging road that leads directly to the trailhead in Springer. The weather this morning was a downpour. The forest road was the most suitable for the jeep to climb the hill. When BigMan arrived, it seemed like 2 minutes until we got out of the cars packed and soaked. Lihat juga mnh2. Kiss my wife, pose for a photo, kiss the wife again, tell her to be careful coming home, kiss the wife again, turn around and head a mile south to find the trailhead.

Game on!
