ANSURE-PLEUSEUSE REFUGE

I slept quite well at the Cabourons refuge. The only thing that occasionally woke me up was a mouse running from one place to another through the wall behind my head. I got up with the alarm at 5:20 am and I was still tired. It was more rigid than normal and this is how it seems last week. I am not sure when the last time I had a real zero day and I think it is affecting. But I’m pressing until the end!

Today, I fell from the mountains and returned to the St. Lawrence River. I was excited about this. Those who read about my experience visiting the «coast» a few weeks ago know that I love being close to the water. It fills me. So today, when the path led me directly to where the Rivière de Mont-Saint-Pierre flowed freely to Fleuve Saint-Laurent (St. Lawrence River), they bit me.

However, from there, I immediately cut myself and went abruptly to Mont Saint-Pierre. There were stellar views and I loved it. It seems that the path in the future will be so, sometimes being close to water and other times being in the forested mountains with the possibility of occasional views.

I walked up to approximately 4:45 pm. The last section was a road walk along the 132 highway and Mom and Dad found me that I connected. I got on, went to the small cabin/motel room they had found to spend the night, and took a beautiful hot shower!

At night we decided to celebrate at the Capitainerie restaurant! It was a fun night hanging and celebrating with delicious fish and fried potatoes and local craft beers. The food was delicious and having the opportunity to be together was an impulse for my morals. We learned the French words to tell our waiter that our fish was, «the best in the world» or «Le Meilleur du Monde».

Now that I got to the coast, I have the feeling that the end is at a symbolic view. That said, there are still more than 125 miles for the end and many paths of trails and coastal to enjoy.

Here is the rest of today’s photos and videos …

This little rest stop was just along the path, which in this place was a gravel path. He offered a good view of St. Lawrence and the town of Mont-Saint-Pierre.

Upon entering the city, there was a section where the path was direct in people’s rear.

The coast mountains here were quite steep and still quite large too.

Back in St. Lawrence!

That’s where I was running, to Mont-Saint-Pierre.

The coastal route again (day 236)

Up.

This path was immaculate. It is what all other paths throughout this trip should fight … Decent Graded, beautiful back pending and descending slope, and a lateral rating enough to allow adequate drainage. Premium.

That’s where I came earlier in the day.

It is still higher.

Around 1,350 feet of elevation here.

I am quite sure that these lines are for paraglining!

A few miles ahead, another point of view. This time overlooking Mont Louis.

This is aimed at the next little cove. I am not sure whether it is the name of the city or what, but on the map it is called L’Onse-Pleureuse.

This was our place for the night 🙂

This picturesque scene was next to the restaurant.

Thanks for joining the trip! It means a lot that you took the time to read these adventures. I love spending time and connecting to the natural world and I am very grateful for these experiences. However, not everyone has the resources to do so.

So, if you want to help all children to get outdoors, a cause that means a lot to me, please help me support Empowerment with outdoors! The «Council author» button is a direct link to my fund collection page. You are really incredible. Thank you.

Finished audiobook:

«The Lord of the Rings: The King’s return» by Jrr Tolkien and narrated by Andy Serkis.
