Barcelona conquered a blunder by goalkeeper Joan Garcia to come from behind and to win 3-1 at promoted Oviedo in the La Liga 2025-26 on Thursday.

Barcelona was behind after Garcia gave the ball away when he left the area and scored Alberto Reina for the host with a shot from the neighborhood of the midfield circle.

The Catalan club gathered in the second half with goals from Eric Garcia, Robert Lewandowski and Ronald Arajo to achieve his fifth victory in six league matches.

The result left Barcelona two points behind leader Real Madrid, who won 4-1 on Tuesday at promoted Levante to keep a perfect record after six rounds.

«In the first half we struggled with the scoring options, but in the second time we took the pace and we got the three goals and the victory that is very important to us,» said Lewandowski.

Joan Garcia’s mistake came when he ventured outside the area to intercept a long pass in the 33rd minute. He used his right thigh to get the ball over one opponent and then his left foot to remove another Oviedo player, but eventually stood the ball in the middle of the field near where Alberto Reina stood.

Reina immediately sent a flowering one-touch shot over the defenders of Barcelona and in the open net from about 35 meters (meters) distance. The ball bounced just before the line before he entered.

It was another goalkeeper error with which Elche was able to score an equalizer of a stop time and earn a 1-1 draw at Osasuna.

Osasuna’s Sergio Herrera stormed up his net to try to block an attempt by Adria Pedrosa, but did not put himself well and the ball went through his legs, allowing Pedrosa to come and scored.

Elche, also promoted to the first division this season, had won two of the last three games. It is in fifth place.
