Spain will host the 2030 World Cup final, the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said on Monday.
FIFA has not yet said where it plans to host the decisive match of a tournament co-hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco. But Rafael Louzan told reporters at a media event that the title match will take place in Spain, although he did not specify in which city or venue it would be played.
“Spain will lead the World Cup and the final will be held here,” Louzan said on Monday, without elaborating.
Real Madrid’s newly renovated Santiago Bernabeu Stadium has long been touted by the Spanish media as the venue for the final, but recently there were reports that Morocco could eventually host the match.

Morocco hoped to host the final at the under-construction Hassan II Stadium, which would become the world’s largest football arena with a capacity of 1,15,000 after its scheduled completion in 2028.
But a chaotic Africa Cup of Nations final this month reflected poorly on Morocco and may have cost the country the chance to host the World Cup final.
Barcelona also renovated the Camp Nou stadium and could also qualify for the final.
The 2030 World Cup will also see Latin American countries Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay host a match each as part of the tournament’s centenary celebrations.
