The valuation of ISL media rights drops by 97% compared to last season


The valuation of the Indian Super League (ISL) media rights for the 2025-2026 season took a nosedive when FanCode bagged the broadcast rights for Rs. Check out reference source. 8.5 crore.

The valuation is a significant drop from the last two seasons when Viacom18 Media Private Limited acquired the rights for a total consideration of Rs. 550 crores.

The expiry of the Master Rights Agreement (MRA) between the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) led to the Indian football ecosystem going into disarray.

The ISL season is yet to get underway and the postponed campaign will begin on February 14 with a total of 91 matches, 72 fewer than the 2024-2025 season.

All these factors have led to a nearly 97 percent decline in current media rights valuation reference source.

In the tentatively announced matches, defending ISL champions Mohun Bagan Super Giant will take on Kerala Blasters at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on February 14.
