Tobin Heath Retires – American women’s football legend and World Cup winner announces pension


United States two -time World Cup winner Tin Heath announced her retirement on Thursday, after years away from the sport because of an injury, who disappointed her legions of fans who hoped she could recapture the field one day.

Famous for her cool attitude and extraordinary intelligence on the field, Heath took two Olympic gold and won the NWSL championship twice with the Portland Thorns.

«I think I still had a few mountains that I wanted to climb with football, even though I am very grateful for the career I had,» said the 37-year-old attacker on her podcast for Hercapshow.

«I always get the question» so are you coming back? » And a bit like, well, writing is on the wall.

Heath played for the last time for Ol Reign and underwent seasonal knee operation after an injury in September 2022 in September 2022.

One of the most decorated figures in the hugely successful American football program, in 2016 she was named American football femoret of the year and earned 181 caps from the national team in her career.

«I never played to be famous or for people to give me up,» said Heath. “I just played because I thought it was great.
