Together again – The walk

Day 82-6 miles today from Great Barrington to Tom Leonard Lean to 1700 feet up, 800 feet down, 1534 in Mile Marker (mm)

Trains and cars

The blows and I met in New York. At the time of getting there on July 4, it was later in the day. We didn’t do much, but we ate and then crashed.

This morning we take the Peter Pan bus to Great Barrington. The bus passed through Pawling New York, where we started our flip flop last year.

As usual, I was a little anxious while traveling to the path. It has been almost a week since I left the path in Duncannon Pa. As soon as we get off the Peter Pan bus, we jumped to the free supermarket Free Town to the supermarket and market.

We have too much food, so once again I am starting with a heavy package.

Magic of the path

Outside the grocery store, I put the sign that said «A App Trail». Around the fourth car that happened to us and gave us a trip to 2 miles until the beginning of the path. It was there, we obtained our second piece of trail magic with a refrigerator full of cold drinks and a snack box.

We got on the road around 4:00 pm, the first mile and half was flat through a corn field reminding me of being in Pennsylvania again. The first refuge was our goal about six and a half miles.

Socks

After the flat part, we made an steep climb and then another steep climb through a very beautiful forest. However, the path was covered with beautiful soft pine needles.

Today’s temperatures were warm. We were sweating but not unbearably hot as a week ago.

Together again – The walk

After crossing a paved road, we started a very steep climb to some shelves. There were some rock faces that were very difficult and steep. We arrive at the shelter and install our store to spend the night.
