Transfer Deadline Day: Large signing sessions in Ligue 1 Summer Transfer window

After a summer of unprecedented expenses, the European transfer window closed on 1 September at 7 p.m. BST (11.30 p.m.).

Ligue 1 had a good part of the player transactions, with other clubs that this year wanted to move from Paris Saint-Germain this year.

The French champion has also strengthened its already formidable team with the additions of two new players to the defensive back line.

Here are five of the most important transfers from the Ligue 1 Summer Window 2025:

Ilya Zabarnyi (Paris Saint-Germain)

After its first UEFA Champions League title, PSG raised his defense with the signing of Ukrainian center-back Ilya Zabarnyi of Premier League Side Bournemouth for 63 million euros. The defender will compete with Willian Pacho for a starting point.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Olympique de Marseille)

Former Arsenal -Spits Aubameyang returns to Olympique de Marseille on a free transfer from Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah. The Gabon striker scored 21 goals in 36 games in all competitions in Saudi Aarabia and had a fast start in Marseille, scored two goals and assisted one in the first three competition matches.

Paul Pogba (as Monaco)

After a reduction in his doping ban from four years to 18 months, the French star Paul Pogba signed a two -year contract with AS Monaco. The midfielder only made two performances for Juventus in the 2023/24 season and has not played since then. Pogba will hope that a return to France can stimulate his career back to life.

Lucas Chevalier (Paris Saint-Germain)

The French international goalkeeper Chevalier came to PSG from Lille for 40 million euros this summer and was quickly announced as the preferred option of the team between the posts, forcing Gianluigi Donnarumma to leave the club and eventually signed with Man City.

Benjamin Pavard (Olympique de Marseille)

After the end of a distant second in Ligue 1 last season, Marseille spent more than 70 million euros to strengthen his team, together with a few loan signs, including World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard, who is from Inter Milan. The men of Roberto de Zerbi shipped last season in 47 goals, the most under the top five teams. Pavard and other new signing sessions, Emerson and Facundo Medina, will be entrusted with the downing of that number.
